Want a Career in Furniture? Make This Your Secret Weapon

 


I was recently asked to speak at a local Furniture Association Furniture, I’m not using that term lightly.

After having some discussion with the local chairperson, I realized that I had a lot of common sense to share on the subject of FURNITURE. The point of furniture is more than just the furniture itself. Our business is a full-service, retail furniture store. It does take a lot of work to get you that good furniture that you want. We are not the place for just any piece of furniture, but we are the place for high quality, custom made furniture. Our customers make a big deal about their furniture when they look at it.


Furniture shops are typically very competitive and it’s rare to find the best quality furniture. The best furniture is usually the lowest priced. So if you want some high quality custom made furniture, there is no doubt that you’ll have to pay a lot of money for it.


Furniture is a huge business and if you don’t make it, you’ll go out of business.


You have to invest a lot of money to get good furniture. The challenge is finding the right people. And you might not find them. I’ve done a lot of work at furniture stores and it happens that the people who make the best quality furniture are usually the ones who already have experience with the right people. Here is a tip: If you have the right contacts, you can find the right people to make custom furniture for you. And that is where the secret of finding the right people comes in. You have to do more than just say, "i need a hand here" and then pay someone else to do it for you. You have to let them do it on their own.


There are two ways to do this. The first one is to make a contract with the person who makes the furniture. This is really simple because no one likes to be paid more than they are worth. The second way to do it is to get a referral. This is the one that is not so easy because the people who refer other people to you and then do it all on their own don't actually want to know anything about you.


The easiest way to get a referral is through the internet.


If you want someone to buy something for you, just take a picture of the item and send it to a company called "Furniture.com." You can then go watch the salesperson go through the inventory and actually make an offer for it. If you like what you see, you can put a trade in on the site to get a chance to get a referral. That's it.




Thats it. No phone calls, no emails, no nothing. A Furniture.com salesman will call you to tell you that they will be in the store in the next hour, and then you get a call back from a Furniture.com rep who wants you to buy something for them. Now, I'm not saying Furniture.com is a scam, but it does look like a legitimate company. It's easy to see that Furniture.com has a very good reputation for selling furniture online. So why would a person want to make this list? Well, Furniture.com offers a lot of products, and I would think these things would be easy to sell.
